MEXICO CITY.
The former American basketball player Dennis Rodman returned to the spotlight, not only for his appearance in Michael Jordan’s series llamada The Last Dance ’, but for remembering one of his curious passages in his personal life, no less than with the supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, during his visit to that country.
Rodman relates that when he first visited North Korea in 2013, he was greeted by the same supreme leader as he got off the plane, requesting that I accompany him.
Some people asked me to follow them and instinctively I thought they wanted to arrest me. I went to one of the large chairs and the 22,000 people present stood up, applauding, but an officer reminded me that the ovation is addressed to their leader. ‘Leader of … what?’ I had no idea who it was, “Rodman said on Mike Tyson’s podcast called Hotboxing.
In that same space, the former NBA star commented that Kim Jong-un inherited his taste for basketball from his father and that that same night between drinks of vodka and karaoke, he confessed to being a great admirer of his game at the Chicago Bulls.
Rodman notes that to date, he maintains a good relationship with the North Korean president, a fact that has led him to be investigated by US authorities, due to the calls and the contact that they usually have with him.
