Dengue Fever Threatens, Three Children Reported to Die

PASURUAN, Radar Bromo – In the midst of the full attention of various parties on the development of Covid-19, cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) have emerged. There were 82 cases of dengue fever during January to April. In fact, three people have been reported to have died.

The three people who died from DHF consisted of 2 boys and 1 girl. They are 5 to 10 years old. The Regent of Pasuruan, Irsyad Yusuf, invited the people of Pasuruan Regency to be aware of the disease. He invited residents to promote the 3M movement in their respective homes.

“I ask the whole community not only to be aware of Covid-19, but also dengue fever. This disease is very dangerous if it is not prevented as early as possible,” he said.

Gus Irsyad – as he is affectionately known – said that the 3M movement is to drain bathtubs, close water reservoirs, and bury used items that have the potential to become breeding grounds for mosquitoes. The 3M movement should be a concern for all RT/RW heads. The community is invited to do community service to carry out the 3M movement.

“I’m sure the public understands very well how to work together in community service. But, still yes pay attention to health protocols,” he added.

In addition to community service, every citizen can become a jumantik (lattice monitor) in their respective homes. Plus being agent of change to change people’s behavior with the 3M movement.

Anything can be done to kill mosquitoes. Turning off the environment to breed. Breaking the chain of life for dengue mosquito larvae. Drain, bury, then plant used goods. Plus applying lemongrass to the body. “That’s a good step to avoid mosquito bites,” he hoped.

Currently, there are two heads of agencies who are being treated for dengue fever. One is already in the healing process and is starting to work. Another is still being treated in hospital. His condition is getting better.

“Two of my staff live in Pasuruan City. Alhamdulillah, one person has recovered and returned to work. One is getting better. I hope you get well soon,” he said.(sid/far)
