The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a smart parking lot opening ceremony near Gyenam High Street in Bucheon City on the 26th. This parking lot was prepared for the demonstration of a smart parking robot that Marrobottech received a special demonstration in October last year.

Smart parking robots correspond to mechanical parking devices under the Parking Lot Act, but safety inspections and certifications have been restricted so far because there are no safety standards and standards.

Accordingly, the government verified the efficiency of the parking robot service and granted a special case for demonstration to establish safety standards and secure data.

Maro Robot Tech is planning to open a smart parking lot to the public after operating it for employees of the Bucheon Wonmi Police Station. In the future, it is planned to expand the demonstration area near Bupyeong Food Town.

The government plans to set up funds for companies approved for regulatory sandboxes, support companies approved for empirical special cases to receive preferential interest rates and preferential guarantee benefits, and support financing necessary for commercialization.

In addition, it approved 63 special cases of industrial convergence regulation last year, and plans to approve 100 special cases this year.

“The smart parking robot is the result of the meeting of digital transformation (DT) and the regulatory sandbox to create innovation,” said Jin-gyu Park, Vice Minister of Industry, who attended the opening ceremony on this day. We will quickly resolve it in connection with the regulatory sandbox.”
