At the same time, Claudine Angeli-Troccaz, assistant in charge of security ethics, notes in this report that “the files which are regularly referred to by the Defender of Rights in matters of security ethics highlight a crisis of confidence in citizens towards the security forces and an increase in violence during the exercise of their missions ”. “This finding resolutely calls for an awareness of the authorities,” she said.
In addition, last year, the General Inspectorate of the National Police was given 1,460 investigations by the justice system, a figure up 23.7% from 2018, according to its annual report read by the AFP on Monday.
Of these 1,460 judicial inquiries entrusted to “beef-carrots”, 868 relate to “willful violence”, a figure that jumped 41% compared to 2018 (+256).
