The prosecutor’s office in Burgas brought charges against 24-year-old Georgi Gendjov, who killed his mother in a particularly cruel way.
The investigators defined the murder of the teacher Radka Gesheva as the height of cruelty. Extremely cold-blooded and purposeful, without an iota of regret for what happened.
There are more than 40 cuts on the victim with two knives, after one of them broke.
The incident took place in the detainees’ quarters. Yesterday he called his mother to complain that he was not feeling well and she went to his home.
The investigators specified that he was a drug addict. He was hospitalized 7 times in the psychiatric clinic in Burgas after his parents reported that he was having problems. Another dispute between the mother and the son occurred yesterday.
“There is evidence that the perpetrator uses drugs and his mother was very worried about this fact. Regardless of the fact that he is an adult. And most likely, these concerns of hers led to the emergence of a dispute and this terrible act,” said Senior Commissioner Emil Pavlov, Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas.
“We, as people with considerable experience already in the law enforcement system, have faced many brutal murders. But this is one of those that we can call the crown of brutality. What I can tell you and for me it is heartbreaking that the perpetrator did not shows no regret and remorse for what happened,” added Georgi Chinev, District Prosecutor of Burgas.
Georgi Gendjov’s psychiatric examination is still awaited – whether he has suffered disabilities from long-term drug use, whether he is sane and what criminal liability he may bear.
