NEW YORK – A 19-year-old girl was found dead Saturday morning wrapped in plastic in Lower Manhattan near Pier 17, New York City Police said.
The authorities responded to the scene in the area of Seaport, around 9:30 am, in South Street. Little is known so far about the woman or the circumstances that led to her death, but police sources say she was apparently homeless.
The NY Daily News reported that the woman was found on the second floor of the old Fulton Fish Market building.
The investigation continues while the forensic doctor determines the cause of death of the young woman.
