Football can be played again in 2e Exloërmond. The Treffer’16 may again use the fields in the village. The municipality of Borger-Odoorn must make the pitches and the associated facilities available to De Treffer’16 again within a week for the next football season.

The court determined this after the football club had instituted preliminary relief proceedings against the municipality of Borger-Odoorn. According to the court, the municipality has not included the interests of all members of De Treffer ’16 in the decision to deny the club access to the fields.
Breakthrough
It is a breakthrough in the football soap that the village has known for years. The De Treffer’16 club was founded in 2016 on the initiative of youth managers of TEVV. TEVV has existed since 1934 and disagreements arose within the club about finances, among other things. The new club now has 260 members and ten teams. From the start in 2016, only De Treffer’16 rented the pitches from the municipality. TEVV was now a sleeping club and players no longer had that association.
Merger or roster
From the start of the founding of De Treffer’16, things did not go smoothly between the two clubs. The problems became even worse when TEVV announced in 2019 that it wanted to get a team back on its feet and also wanted to play on the same fields. The municipality proposed a merger. Otherwise, a timetable would have to be drawn up so that it became clear when which club was going to use the fields.
The clubs did not come out. In May, the municipality of Borger-Odoorn finally pulled the plug from football in 2e Exloërmond and closed the fields.
The municipality of Borger-Odoorn will first consult this afternoon before it comes up with a response to the decision. This also applies to the board of De Treffer ’16.
