That could have ended badly: On Friday, March 26th, at around 7:10 p.m., a 61-year-old man was caught behind the wheel of his Daimler-Benz with almost three per thousand alcohol in his blood.

A witness who drove behind him reported the suspicious driving behavior of the man to the police. The alerted officers were able to stop and control the 61-year-old man from Bovenden shortly afterwards. According to the police report, they found a “strong breath alcohol odor”.
Criminal proceedings for drunk driving
The test that followed showed a breath alcohol concentration of 2.98 parts per thousand. The driver’s license was then secured, and a blood sample was later taken from the driver at the Northeim police station. He is now awaiting criminal proceedings for drunk driving, and he has also been banned from driving on in vehicles that require a driver’s license.
