CUT: Slovácko – Sparta 2:4. Letenský again closer to the title, Kuchta shone

Sparta recorded two victories on tricky ground in Uherské Hradiště. After a tough fight, the home team defeated coach Martin Svědík 4:2, moreover, not one of its supports received a fourth yellow card. And nine of them were endangered! That’s why he will go into the biggest blockbuster match – and in full force. The big derby is played on Saturday, the reigning champions hold a four-point lead, with four rounds left to play before the end of the league. In addition, the fact that she mastered the basic part plays into her notes. In the event of a point match at the end, they will defend their triumph.

Maybe Jan Kuchta watched Karel Poborský’s famous piece on YouTube before the match. Or he remembered his autumn intervention in Hradec Králové. Anyway, in the early evening on Sunday, he became Mr. Parachute at the stadium under the owl lights.

He scored twice in this captivating style – making a crucial contribution to the 4-2 victory.

“We scored a total of fifteen goals in the last four games, that’s fantastic. We have attacking quality,” coach Brian Priske reveled. “But the title is still a long way off. Four matches,” he drew attention to other duels in the superstructure. “And what to say about Honza? Top class,” he added.

Attention, in Kucht’s case it is more about an emphatic player, a hard worker, annoying to every opponent. The technician is not bad, but his fine “skill” is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind. But this time he demonstrated that he can.

He first broke free in the 12th minute. It was the cooperation of the entire attacking trident. Lukáš Haraslín got involved this time as a defender, with a slide he blocked Kim’s shot towards Veljko Birmančevič, who immediately sent Kuchta forward with a shot. The attacker was chased by Marek Havlík – and he is a brilliant player, but definitely not a sprinter. The juice also splashed him and he elegantly tipped goalkeeper Tomáš Fryšták.

In another twelve minutes he added a second similar piece. Tomáš Wiesner sent him for the defense with a pass from the right side (offside was rejected by the video control, but it was really a border issue), Kuchta made his mark similarly to the first situation. Only this time the lob didn’t fly as high. “Their entire attacking trio gave us huge problems. Kuchta is constantly charging, Birmančević and Haraslín are walking lower, which expands the space,” commented home defender Daniel Holzer.

After two hits, it seemed that Slovácko had no way to hurt Sparta. But… It took a breather in the first half. A very good combination was completed by Kim, clearly the best player in the home white jersey. The Korean excelled in movement and technique, scoring for the second time in a row.

“We had good periods when we scored, but we kept chasing the result. Sparta got comfortable, they have great individual quality,” admitted home coach Martin Svědík.

In the second half, Sparta – after all – paid attention. A one-goal lead and a relatively decent performance by the home team kept them on their toes. She played more cautiously. The win was a must with next week’s derby. The fact that nine of its players were in danger of missing the clash with Slavia due to a yellow card certainly contributed to this (seven of them were in the starting line-up, the other two came into the game during the game). In the end, Adam Karabec was the only person reprimanded, over whom the yellow sword did not hang.

“I am unhappy with the number of red cards, but yellow cards are part of football. I’m glad that no one showed up for the derby,” thanked the Spartan coach. That’s why his team held the ball, the main idea was not to concede. For a while his plan was successful, moreover, he ended his lead with a cunning shot on the front post of Haraslín.

However, times were not easy for the master. It was enough for Kaan Kairinen to play in a hand slide in the penalty area. Penalty. Captain Vlastimil Daníček (of course) converted. He kicked the 20th penalty kick in the league – and still has a 100% success rate. The tension increased, the home team was angry, of course not. “We played fantastically for seventy-five minutes. But the momentum of the penalty changed it, until then we had it under control. I’m proud of the boys, it’s a very good victory for us,” explained Priske.

The guests calmed down only in the set time, captain Ladislav Krejčí decided definitively from the penalty. “I think Sparta controlled the match,” acknowledged Svědík.

On Saturday, the derby is played at Letná. Last year, the home team won it and made a major move towards the final triumph. This year they have the trump cards in their hands again.
