It is reported that medical workers were involved in the scheme with the sale of the fake vaccine. At least 12 fake vaccination campaigns have been carried out in and around the city, according to Mumbai Police Department spokesman Vishal Thakur.
“They used saline and injected. At every fake vaccination site, they did it,” he brushed aside.
In total, about 2,500 people received fake injections, and the organizers earned $ 28,000 from the scheme.
“We arrested the doctors. They used a hospital that produced fake certificates, vials, syringes,” Thakur added.
To date, 14 people have been arrested on suspicion of fraud, attempted murder, conspiracy and other charges.
