The Comptroller General warned that 4,526,250 vaccines from the laboratory against COVID-19 are at risk of expiration as of March 31, which could generate losses to the State for S/125,740,007.

According to a report from the Comptroller, Cenares had stored 2,473,400 vaccines valued at S/68,693,792, with an expiration date between February 28 and March 31. He also recalled that last February 28, 8,580 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine expired in the Regional Health Directorates of San Martín, Tacna and Madre de Dios.

Between February 13 and March 11, Cenares has distributed the AstraZeneca vaccines – with a near expiration date – to the Integrated Health Directorates (Diris), Regional Health Directorates (Diresas), Regional Health Directorates (Geresas), Insurance Social Health (Essalud) and Metropolitan Solidarity System (Sisol).
