Of course I’m disappointed. We could at least score a point. Maybe we had more respect in the first half. Sparta did not put us under pressure in the opening goal, but scored twice. We didn’t play well during the first half, but we didn’t let the home team go into bigger chances. Losing on Sparta 0: 2 is annoying.
The second half was about something completely different for you.
We left the cabin knowing that we had to adapt more to the game, be more active and attack more. We fulfilled that, we put a contact goal at 2: 1, which was examined. I don’t mean that we fought Sparta, by no means, but we had a lot of chances in the last twenty-five minutes. The miraculous interventions of the goalkeeper Heči kept the home team in a one-goal lead.

In the final ten minutes, we had, from my point of view, three hundred percent chances, the biggest one probably being Štěpánek. From our last matches in Sparta, we have now played probably the most daring football. It rarely happens that Sparta is at home under pressure for the last 25 minutes. We succeeded, unfortunately we did not get anything out of it. Sparta still has the full number of points. I’m glad we’ve verified that this is the way to go. We could easily have turned the match around.

After being eliminated from the European Cup in Dunajská Streda, you realized how important it would be to react in league matches.
I’m still sorry for the elimination, but we played a balanced game there until the sixtieth minute. I say one thing, if you score three goals in the European League, you should not drop out. A bit of a performance is distorted by a draw and two goals in the setting. Maybe a lot of people reduced the team of Dunajská Streda, but they have about three times bigger budget than us, they have ten foreigners out of eleven players, they lead the Slovak league without defeat, just like Sparta in our country. Last year we dropped out with Pjunik, which was a disgrace. I’m not taking the elimination this year.
Does the second half in Sparta fill you with optimism that everything will return to the right track after a national team break?
Our performance is not so bad. I’m sorry we have to take turns in every match, there are three or four changes. We buy injuries, which is unpleasant for any team. I wouldn’t look for a snag if it fits or not. We have ten points, a cup awaits us in the repre pause and we move on. We have to continue the performances, for example, from the second half in Sparta.
