Coronavirus: Two establishments have been punished – News Geneva: Geneva news

The first sanctions have fallen. The public prosecutor has just condemned two establishments which had remained open despite the cessation of activities imposed by the Federal Council on March 16.

According to Confederation directives, all restaurants, entertainment establishments and shops, subject to specific exceptions – such as food stores and pharmacies – were to close on March 17. Violation of these provisions is punishable by a custodial sentence of up to three years or a monetary penalty.

To date, the prosecution has received two cases from the police. It is a restaurant that has maintained an on-site service in addition to the authorized activity, take-out and an erotic lounge. The operators of these two establishments were sentenced to suspended 180-day monetary penalties, together with immediate fines of 3,240 and 1,080 francs. The employee of the erotic salon was also punished. The proceeds of his illegal activity were also confiscated from him.
