The Dominican congressman in New York, Adriano Espaillat, assured that more than 900 Dominicans in that city have died due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

When interviewed in the program Esta Noche Mariasela, he indicated that he reviewed more than 12 thousand death certificates and thus was able to verify the number.

“Of 12, 600-odd death certificates, the first ones we reviewed, around 900-odd were from Dominicans, people born in the Dominican Republic, which corresponds more or less to the population percentage that we have here in the city,” he said. Espaillat.

According to data from international news agencies, 20,316 people have died in New York City from the Coronavirus.

While in the United States, reports published by John Hopkins University, maintain that the pandemic reached 1,389,935 confirmed cases and 84,059 deaths.
