Mexico reached, at the cut of this July 13, 35 thousand 491 deaths from Covid-19, with 304,435 cases of confirmed coronavirus infections, according to authorities from the Ministry of Health.
Yesterday the Health Secretary It had confirmed 299,750 infections, 35,600 deaths and more than 29,000 active cases of coronavirus in Mexico.
Pandemic can “get worse”
The pandemic can “get worse” if the governments of affected countries do not take the fight against coronavirus seriously, said the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who stressed that “too many countries are going in the wrong direction”.
Tedros made this warning after announcing that in the last 24 hours the record for daily cases, with more than 230 thousand, half of them in only two countries (about 60 thousand in the United States and 40 thousand in Brazil).
“Although the number of daily deaths remains relatively stable, there is much to be concerned about,” added the WHO chief.
