Florence, 1 June 2021 – Historical lows for the covid in Tuscany: I’m 159 new cases of coronavirus registered throughout the region in the last 24 hours. The numbers of Tuesday 1 June are particularly good and the president of the Region also underlines this Eugenio Giani. These are numbers that are leading the region straight to the white area, towards the almost total reopening of the activities that should take place after mid-June.
The age of the newly infected
The average age of the 159 new positives today is around 35 (30% are under 20, 28% between 20 and 39, 30% between 40 and 59, 10% between 60 and 79, 2% have 80 years or older).
The progress of the healings
The healed grew by 0.3% and reached 227,243 (94.1% of total cases).
Swabs processed
Today, 7,347 molecular swabs and 8,853 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 1% tested positive. On the other hand, 5,109 subjects were tested today (with antigenic and / or molecular swab, excluding the control swabs), of which 3.1% tested positive. The currently positive are 7,613 today, -6% compared to yesterday.
The trend of hospitalizations
There are 504 hospitalized (36 fewer than yesterday), of which 107 in intensive care (3 fewer).
Six deaths
Today there are 6 new deaths: 3 men and 3 women with an average age of 80 years. The registered deaths are 3 in Florence, 2 in Arezzo, 1 in Siena. 6,725 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 2,173 in Florence, 584 in Prato, 618 in Pistoia, 521 in Massa-Carrara, 659 in Lucca, 694 in Pisa, 411 in Livorno, 483 in Arezzo, 320 in Siena , 171 in Grosseto, 91 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

There are 66,669 total cases to date in Florence (53 more than yesterday), 22,304 in Prato (15 more), 22,798 in Pistoia (11 more), 13,246 in Massa-Carrara (2 more), 24,492 in Lucca (7 more), 29,003 in Pisa (11 more), 17,340 in Livorno (10 more), 22,663 in Arezzo (13 more), 13,684 in Siena (22 more), 8,827 in Grosseto (15 more) . 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. There are 82 cases found today in the ASL Center, 27 in the North West, 50 in the South East.
The rate of weekly positives
Currently, the rate of weekly positives per hundred thousand inhabitants is 45. The white area it comes under fifty cases. However, it takes three weeks to maintain the current data to obtain the white zone. Tuscany can easily get there but obviously we need to continue to follow the basic rules: always carry the mask with you and respect the distance.
Over 16 thousand tampons
I’m 16.200 i test carried out in the last 24 hours in Tuscany, of which 7,357 molecular swabs and 8,853 rapid tests. The positive rate on the first tests is at an all-time low: it is 3.1%, a sign of how the contagion is slowing down.
For the second day in a row, therefore, Tuscany sees a number of new positives below 200: on Monday 31 May the new positives were 147.
