Polcier killed in Avignon: “He was a golden guy”

Yesterday, the tributes multiplied in front of the Avignon police station. The brothers in arms of Eric Masson, shot dead while carrying out a narcotics traffic control, are still in shock.

Emotion and sadness still dominate in Avignon, two days after the tragedy which claimed the life of Eric Masson. Inscribed with candles on the forecourt of the police station, the name of the 36-year-old brigadier is honored with bouquets of flowers and numerous messages of support. His colleagues are deeply affected: “We killed my friend. He was very popular with other colleagues, I don’t know an enemy, he was a golden guy ”; “We always say that the best go first, it’s an adage that is now true. He was a smiling person, always available, a sportsman. We lose a lot with the departure of Eric ”.

All day long, different brigades came to collect and pay homage to Eric Masson, son, brother of a police officer and father of two children. A rally organized by his colleagues is scheduled for Sunday. All the police unions are also calling for a “citizens’ march” on May 19 in Paris.
