Coronavirus in Ukraine – what will be the training from September

“The format in which the new academic year will take place will depend on the epidemic situation on the territory of Ukraine as a whole or on the territory of individual regions. The Ministry of Education and Science seeks to quickly return all pupils and students to school, professional (vocational) and higher education “, – said the press service of the Ministry of Education.

How soon this happens depends not only on the level of infection in the country, but also on the rate of vaccination, says Lotta Silvander, UNICEF Chairman in Ukraine.

“Hopefully the kids can go back to school. But there are new variants of the virus that are also infecting children. Let’s see if we can deal with these options during the summer – then yes, children can return to their usual schooling in the fall,” she said. RBK-Ukraine.

Educational Ombudsman Sergei Gorbachev noted that education, to which everyone is accustomed, is a thing of the past in March 2020 and will not return.

“In fact, when we return to ordinary life – and I am deeply convinced that this will happen – we will have, firstly, much more experience of life in a pandemic. But even in those conditions, education, of course, will not remain so Therefore, education, to which we are all accustomed, in March 2020, simply became a thing of the past and will not return, “he said.

The pandemic and quarantine pushed the education system towards rapid development.

“During this year, the level of digital competence of teachers has grown in a way that we could not have dreamed of all previous years. This is a clear illustration of a rather banal truth that a crisis is not only a problem, but also an opportunity,” the Ombudsman stressed.

Some of the mastered digital tools in the arsenal of Ukrainian teachers will probably remain even after the victory over the virus. Schools and teachers who have “tasted” the advantages of online platforms are unlikely to want to completely say goodbye to them after the pandemic.

It is expected that many teachers will use these tools in the future along with offline lessons, because they provide more opportunities and work more efficiently, Gorbachev said.
