Coronavirus can produce a comprehensive set of effects, some of which can last for months on end.
A new study sheds light on five of the most prolonged symptoms of the Corona virus, which can last for 6 months or more, according to the British newspaper “Express”.
A new study examined the long-term health consequences of discharged COVID-19 patients, and researchers studied a group of infected patients who were discharged from Jin Yin-tan Hospital (Wuhan, China) between January 7 and May 29, 2020.
All patients were interviewed and administered questionnaires to assess symptoms and health-related quality of life, underwent physical examinations and a six-minute gait test, and received blood tests.
In total, 1,733 of the 2,469 discharged patients with COVID-19 were registered, after 736 had been excluded.
Six months after the acute infection, Covid-19 survivors were mainly suffering from fatigue or muscle weakness, difficulty sleeping, anxiety or depression.
“Patients who became severely ill during their stay in the hospital had severe lung weakness and chest abnormalities, and were the main target population for intervention in long-term recovery,” the researchers wrote.
What is pulmonary prevalence
It is a diagnostic test that measures how the gas exchange takes place in the lungs.
How do you respond to symptoms
If you have any of the main symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19), you should get tested as soon as possible, stay home until you get the result.
Symptoms
There is currently no specific treatment for Coronavirus (COVID-19), but you can often relieve symptoms at home until you recover.
However, there are some simple self-help tips that may provide some relief from the effects of Corona.
If you have a high temperature, this can help:
Plenty of rest
Drink plenty of fluids (water is best) to avoid dehydration – drink enough so that your urine is light yellow and clear.
It is also recommended to take paracetamol or ibuprofen if you feel uncomfortable.
If you have a cough, it is best to avoid lying on your back, lie on your side or sit upright.
