Festive effects aside, that’s all highest increase since early October.
The nationwide 7-day incidence is up again, up 197.
It is 19 points higher than the provisional low reached exactly one week ago.
The incidence is increasing in 13 of the 16 federal stateswhich are three exceptions Baden-Württemberg, Hamburg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
Lower Saxony is the federal state with the by far maximum incidence at 7 days (357 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).
Lower Saxony is also the state with the higher increase in incidence compared to the previous week (+144 points) – and the state where all urban and rural districts have a higher incidence than the national average.
Lower Saxony also includes the top three districts nationwide, which again one Incidence greater than 500 identify (colored pink on the RKI map): the districts Uelzen (655), Schaumburg (551) and Lüchow-Dannenberg (526).
It is not clear why Lower Saxony is currently more affected than other federal states.
