Chancellery Minister Helge Braun (CDU) defended the resolutions of the Corona top meeting. In the ZDF “Morgenmagazin”, Braun referred to the new situation that arose with the spread of mutants of the virus. “Therefore, careful steps are necessary,” he said.
“If we were still dealing with the wild type of virus alone, then we could now roughly assess which restrictions are necessary and under which conditions,” says Braun. However, some states have experienced how the number of cases went “really high” again even with small openings – up to incidence values of 800.
It is now being examined what the consequences of the first opening steps in Germany will be. For the opening of schools it was agreed that there should be hygiene concepts, tests and an earlier vaccination of teachers and supervisors. However, the sovereignty of the states in the education system applies.
“You have ever seen in the last few months that the Chancellor and I have also strongly advocated that we take the same approach in schools. But we have also seen that we are not alone in the world, but that every prime minister has a coalition, has a minister of education and has his own school community, ”said Braun. “And that’s why many countries have already made decisions in the last few days. And that’s why it is logical that we then also stated in the resolution that the states do this in their religious responsibility. “
