The seven-day incidence in Schleswig-Holstein remains below the value of 10 on the sixth day and is now 8.1 (previous day: 8.9). Only four new cases were reported.
The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who have demonstrably been infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic increased to 63,641. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 61,500 Schleswig-Holsteiners are considered recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics there have been 1,617 deaths so far in connection with the viral disease Covid-19 – three more than the previous day.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values generally do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the seven-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. Flensburg and Neumünster still do not report any new cases
Three districts and one urban district have an incidence higher than 10: Stormarn (18.0), Pinneberg (17.1), Segeberg (14.4) and Lübeck (10.6). In Flensburg and Neumünster, no new confirmed corona cases have been reported in the past seven days.

Relaxations throughout SH
More participants at festivals, events and sports: the state government is relaxing that Corona rules continue in view of the low number of infections. Since Monday (June 14th), up to 500 people can take part in sporting events and competitions inside and up to 1,000 outside. At parties or receptions without fixed seats, up to 125 people are allowed inside subject to certain conditions, outside 250. At concerts, in the theater or cinema, up to 500 participants are possible inside, outside 1,000. Swimming, fun and leisure pools are also allowed to reopen. There is no mask requirement in front of retail stores and in the parking lots. The Corona state ordinance is to be adjusted every two weeks.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination quota shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first dose of vaccination.
46 corona patients in clinics
40 people who have tested positive for Corona are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. That’s six less than the day before. 23 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (+3), 19 need ventilation (+1).

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
