In Schleswig-Holstein, the health authorities reported 120 new corona infections to the state on Sunday (April 26th). The Stormarn and Pinneberg districts are above the incidence value of 100.
Nationwide, the seven-day incidence is 74.0. The day before it was 75.9. However, the districts of the Duchy of Lauenburg and Plön have not reported any new figures. The number of people in Schleswig-Holstein who has demonstrably been infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic rose to 57,465. According to an estimate by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 51,000 people from Schleswig-Holstein have recovered. According to the current State registration office statistics there have been 1,497 deaths so far in connection with the viral disease Covid-19 – one more than the previous day.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) usually updates its data in the morning, but sometimes not until the afternoon. Due to the delay in reporting, the RKI values usually do not correspond to the infection rate, but are too low. As a second number, we therefore give an estimate of how high the 7-day incidence could be without delay in reporting. This value comes closer to the actual development of the pandemic. Districts Stormarn and Pinneberg above the incidence of 100
There are currently two districts above the 100 incidence: Pinneberg (111.0) and Stormarn (106.5). Pinneberg now reports a value of more than 100 on three consecutive days. The number in Steinburg (96.2) has remained the same. As of April 25, the lowest incidences in Schleswig-Holstein with values below 50 are in the districts of Plön (36.5) and North Frisia (38.0).
Development of the number of corona cases in Schleswig-Holstein
New Corona regulation valid until May 9th
On April 19, an amended Corona Control Ordinance came into force in Schleswig-Holstein. It is valid until May 9th and enables outdoor catering in districts with a stable incidence value below 100. On Wednesday, the state government announced that new rules for retail will apply in some districts from Monday (April 26th). Customers in Lübeck, Kiel and Neumünster, among others, are allowed to enter the shops again if they leave their contact details.
Vaccinations against the coronavirus
People in Schleswig-Holstein have been vaccinated against the coronavirus since December 27, 2020. The vaccination rate shows what percentage of northern Germans have already received the first of the currently two required vaccinations.
176 corona patients in clinics
176 people who have tested positive for Corona (+3) are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. 46 of the Covid patients are in intensive therapy (-1), 30 patients have to be ventilated (-2).

What these numbers say – and what not
The state government’s statistics show how many confirmed corona infections are known to the authorities in the country and were reported in the intended way. What the statistics cannot clearly show, let alone the current day, is the speed at which the virus is spreading. Because the number of people who have newly tested positive usually also includes post-reported cases from several days. There are delays in the reporting chain, especially around weekends and public holidays.
