Controversy Over Death of 70-Year-Old Man at Mithaitheru: CPM Blames Governor Arif Muhammad Khan

Kozhikode: The CPM is against Governor Arif Muhammad Khan in the case of the death of a 70-year-old man who collapsed at Mithaitheru. Ashokan, a native of Chevayur, was beaten to death. CPM alleged that the cause of death was the delay in taking him to the hospital due to unexpected crowding and traffic jams caused by the Governor’s arrival at Mithaitheru. They blamed the governor for the death.

Governor Arif Muhammad Khan walked down Mithai Street this afternoon announcing that he does not need police security. Just before this, Ashoka collapsed at 12.36. The incident happened five minutes before the governor arrived.

Ashokan collapsed while standing at the LIC bus stop. It is alleged that Ashoka was delayed in getting to the hospital due to the traffic jam caused by the governor’s unexpected visit to the candy store. Ashoka was admitted to the hospital around 12.55. The explanation given by the police is that it was not too late to take the confused person to the hospital.
