Colomiers. The town hall launches an employment support plan

From September, the municipality will welcome seven young apprentices and two agents on a career path.

“As a local authority, it seems necessary to us to mobilize various mechanisms to support the training and employment of young people”, explains Karine Traval-Michelet, mayor of Colomiers. “This action complements the work we carry out daily alongside our partners to support Columérines and Columérins furthest from employment”. Since 2014, the city has been recruiting apprentices. In 2016, two of them were eligible for the Fund for the integration of people with disabilities into the public service. They were trained and intervened in different areas of the community.

Targeted sectors and professions

“For this start of the 2021 school year, we have chosen sectors where recruitments are under pressure or jobs for which we are regularly solicited for apprenticeship contracts”, adds the mayor. The apprentices will work in different specialties: building maintenance agent, childcare assistant, early childhood educational support, storekeeper, computer technician and mechanic.

The Skills Employment Pathways (PEC) are measures that facilitate the professional integration of people who are far from employment. Certain audiences are particularly targeted, such as disabled workers or residents of priority areas of the city.

In this context, the city will recruit from the fall of two agents, for the positions of maintenance agent of green spaces and multi-purpose food and hygiene officer of the premises. The contracts, for a period of one year, can be renewed within the limit of 24 months.
