The president of the Quipán Peasant Community, Santiago Guardamino Gonzáles, was murdered by hitmen, who dumped his body at kilometer 18.5 of Túpac Amaru Avenue in the Carabayllo district.
Maribel Guardamino, the leader’s wife, told RPP that her spouse had been receiving threats from alleged land traffickers, who had shot him down without him being able to defend himself.
The hypothesis that Santiago Guardamino was murdered in an assault was ruled out because his executioners did not take his belongings, except for a firearm that he was carrying.
According to the widow, the threats come from individuals who seek to take over the land of the Quipán Peasant Community. They even detonated an explosive in her house a year ago.

Santiago Guardamino, a native of the district of Huamantanga, province of Canta, received a posthumous greeting from Mayor Amador Seras Reinoso, the councilors, officials and collaborators of said municipality.
