Collective bargaining agreement for state employees – SWR Aktuell

From December 2022, public sector employees in federal states will receive 2.8% more money. In addition, a special tax-free Corona payment of 1,300 euros will be paid at the beginning of 2022. Trainees and students receive 650 euros. Potsdam’s trade unions and employers have agreed on this, as announced on Monday by the ver.di union and the civil servants’ association dbb. The collective bargaining agreement has a duration of 24 months and starts in December 2021. “This is a very respectable result,” said the head of the ver.di services union, Frank Werneke. “It brings tangible income improvements for a whole range of healthcare professionals.” The result will be passed on to 1.2 million civil servants.

Satisfied with the result was Rhineland-Palatinate Finance Minister Doris Ahnen (SPD). In collective bargaining it was possible to find a fair balance between the legitimate needs of employees and the possibilities of public budgets. According to Ahnen, the cost of collective bargaining for the state is expected to be around 90 million euros. According to Ahnen, the cabinet will decide whether the collective bargaining agreement will also be transferred to state officials.
