British TV personality and presenter Claudia Winkleman turned 50 earlier this year.
But she doesn’t let age be a barrier and says she loves the life of a 50-year-old Independent.
– I’m completely invisible
Winkleman is currently the host of the new UK version of ‘Træræder’, on the BBC called ‘The Traitors’.
After spearheading major TV ventures partnered with Tess Daly, he now runs a solo show.
One of the reasons she took on the role of presenter on her own was because she turned 50, she tells the British newspaper.
– We’re only here for about two minutes, so I felt like I wanted to work a little harder and be less afraid to take risks. I turned 50, so I thought it was time to say yes to others.
Plus, Winkleman says she loves her age.
Gwyneth Paltrow on age: – There’s a huge amount of freedom
– Everything collapses physically. It’s like my skin is now made of crepe paper. But I love it.
The British ‘Shall We Dance’ host hoped her age was irrelevant when it came to her ability to do her job, but admits she realized there are more important things.
– Family, love, good friends, all of this suddenly means more than anything.
In closing, she makes it clear that work is important, but that she now has a different perspective on things.
She is afraid that people will think she is the grandmother of her newborn daughter
Winkleman is perhaps best known as the host of the UK version of ‘Skal vi Danse’, or ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ as it is called in the UK, and has previously hosted ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’ – ‘Det store symesterskapet’ in Norwegian.
