YANGON, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — On Saturday (Aug. 26), the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Revealed the deportation of 24 suspects in telecommunications and internet fraud cases from Myanmar to China in four days.
embassy The Myanmar police handed over six suspects to Chinese police at Yangon International Airport on Aug. 23, five on Aug. 24, eight on Aug. 25, and another. 5 on Aug. 26. These suspects carried out telecom fraud targeting people in mainland China.
China’s Ministry of Public Security More and more telecom fraud groups have moved their operations out of China. To avoid police crackdowns in recent years Chinese police have worked with police forces from the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos and arrested more than 300 suspects since the beginning of 2023, adding that these cases were still being investigated.
