Amsterdam – The Chinese reopening of coal mines and the start-up of new coal-fired power stations belittles every Dutch climate measure to a drop in the ocean. Beijing sees no other choice in the current energy crisis to heat houses and support factories, but in three hours the immense Asian country spews out as much greenhouse gas as the Dutch would have to save by 2030 with gasless houses.
