In Tallinn, the 14th season begins on Thursday with an emergency medical assistance team on a bicycle.
The two-person team provides emergency medical assistance in the Old Town of Tallinn from June to September, but this year it will also be provided in the streets of the center of the Estonian capital, where renovation works are underway, as medics on a bicycle can reach a patient faster than in a car.
Bike patrol equipment is similar to a regular ambulance, and assistance is provided quickly and professionally.
During the summer season, emergency medical doctors on bicycles rush to the aid of an average of 280 patients, covering a total of more than 8,000 kilometers.
The working season of the bicycle patrol in Tallinn continues from June 1 to August 31.
