The resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria is a vivid epitome of the continuous deepening of relations between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries in recent years. Costa Rica, Panama, Dominica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras have successively established or restored diplomatic relations with China in compliance with the general trend of history and the trend of the times. China and Honduras started free trade agreement negotiations less than four months after the establishment of diplomatic relations. China and Nicaragua efficiently completed free trade negotiations within one year. The China-Nigeria Free Trade Agreement will be completed next year. It will officially come into effect on January 1 and will bring more tangible benefits to the people of the two countries. Including infrastructure, energy and power, social and people’s livelihood and other fields, projects assisted by China and constructed by Chinese enterprises have become a new portrayal of China-Latin America cooperation that jointly benefits people’s livelihood.
China has always believed that Latin America is not an “arena” where various forces fight against each other.
