A new step in his recovery: Wout van Aert continues to work on his comeback in Spain

Wout van Aert’s recovery after his crash in Dwars door Vlaanderen seems to be going well. The 29-year-old Visma-Lease a Bike rider is currently continuing to work on his comeback in Spain.

Van Aert went to train near Girona today with Amund Grøndahl Jansen, a Norwegian who now drives for Team Jayco AlUla but in the past was Van Aert’s teammate at the then Jumbo-Visma. Our compatriot completed a trip of 151 kilometers, good for five hours on the bike.

Van Aert had a serious crash on March 27 in Dwars door Vlaanderen, breaking his collarbone, sternum and seven ribs. His spring was logically over and the Giro was also deleted from our compatriot’s program. The Tour de France was not originally planned, but there is a good chance that Van Aert will still be at the start in Florence on June 29. It is not yet clear when exactly he will make his return to competition.
