According to the Ministry of Health, to date 6.9 million fourth doses have been applied to people over 18 years of age, of which more than 112,000 were administered on Monday.

After a spike in infections in February caused by the omicron variant, which raised daily infections to levels never seen in a pandemic in Chile, above 40,000, the pandemic stabilized, although In recent days, infections have risen again.

Health authorities reported that 3,406 new cases and five deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total balance since the beginning of the pandemic to 3.7 million infections and 57,892 deaths.

Patients admitted to intensive care units, however, continue to decline and now barely reach 150, most of them without the full vaccination schedule.

Chile stopped requiring in mid-April the mandatory use of a mask outdoors, as well as vaccination against covid-19 and the performance of a PCR test for foreigners entering the country.
