Children’s health in the Covid-19 era

L’emergency for COVID-19, which we have been living for almost a year now, has profoundly changed the habits of Italian families: schools are closed, smart-working has taken hold, social life is reduced to the bone or even canceled. So, inevitably, we spend most of the day at home in contact with our children: right now we can redesign our relationship with them, help them change unhealthy habits and propose new ones. A “new space”, perhaps long desired, is granted to us with our children and young people: we can fill it by helping them to understand this complicated period and to come out victorious.

The next InfoSALUS, scheduled for Friday 29 January in streaming at 16.30, deals with the theme of health of children and young people in this very complex historical moment. InfoSALUS promotes health and environmental sustainability within the European SALUS project designed to promote a paradigm shift within health and environmental policies.

During the conference the speakers will present data on which hygiene precautions to adopt for safeguard the little ones of the house; they will also illustrate in detail the correct lifestyle supported by the scientific community, suitable for children and young people, to cope with the pandemic in progress and future (if any) similar situations. Last, but equally important, we will talk about the psycho-emotional aspect of the youngest, in many cases put to the test by past and current restrictions, to support their empowerment towards difficulties.

The InfoSALUS conferences are organized by LUMEN aps, as the lead body of the SALUS European Network in collaboration with the Representative Office of the European Parliament in Milan. The Network, currently made up of 44 organizations from 11 European countries, saw the creation of an Interest Group made up of seven MEPs from different nations and political groups in December 2019 in Strasbourg: Eleonora Evi (NA) as president, Patrizia Toia (S&D), Rosa D’Amato (NA), Mara Bizzotto (ID), Carlo Fidanza (ECR), Sirpa Pietikainen (EPP) and Tilly Metz (Greens).

Appointment in streaming Friday 29 January at 4.30 pm.
