QUARTO D’ALTINO (VENICE) – Fatal accident last night on the Triestina SS 14, in the municipality of Quarto d’Altino. A frontal crash between two auto, around 11.30 pm, gave a tragic outcome: four people died (they are three women and one man). These are three members of a family from Jesolo who traveled in the first car and a young woman from Mestre who was driving the second. On site the carabinieri, 118 and the firefighters. After the first impact between the two cars, a third one arrived, with two people on board, who collided with the crashed cars. The two on board were hospitalized under shock but do not have serious injuries.

The young woman from Mestre
The first victim is a girl from Mestre who was traveling alone in a car, a Toyota Yaris: it is a woman, born in 1992, of Indian origin, her name was Piaser Jyotika.
The Jesolo family
In the other car, a Ford Focus, there was one Jesolo family: for the three components on board there was nothing to do. The three are resident in Jesolo, of Romanian origin: it is the Shepherd family. Dad Francisco (46 years old) mother Tatiana (40 years old) drove her, on board was also her daughter Diana Francesca, 21 years old.
The third car: two injured
On the third car involved in the terrible crash there was a couple, he from Treviso and she from Mestre. The two were slightly injured.
Where the accident happened
The violent impact between the two cars took place in the town of Quarto d’Altino, at the junction of Portegrandi. It is a very busy road, especially at night, by young people who go to Jesolo to spend the evening. The firefighters arrived from Mestre with three teams, secured the two cars involved in the first collision, including an overturned one that ended up in the ditch and extracted the occupants. Unfortunately, despite the resuscitation attempts, the Suem doctor had to declare the death of three people traveling in a car: two women and a man and the death of the other driver. During the rescue and recovery operations, the road remained closed. The carabinieri diverted the traffic and carried out the reliefs of the accident. The rescue operations of the fire brigade ended at 4.
The dynamics
The Yaris with the Indian girl on board proceeded to Mestre, the Focus with the Romanian family proceeded from Venice to San Donà. From the first observations on the point of impact, the Yaris would have invaded the opposite lane hitting the car of the Romanian family.
