3 Suspected Banten Terrorists Arrested, Ustaz Picked Up by Officials

Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police arrested three suspected terrorists in the region Banten. Each of these terrorist suspects was arrested in Serang, Pandeglang, and Lebak Regencies.

“It is true that the arrest of three suspected terrorists was carried out by the Densus 88 Team within the jurisdiction of the Banten Police,” said Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, AKBP Sinto Silitonga, via text message, Friday (13/8).

Sinto said the three suspected terrorists were still under intensive investigation. The identity of the terrorist network associated with the three people is not yet known.

“Currently, the three suspected perpetrators are being investigated by the Densus 88 Police investigators,” he said.

One of the locations for the arrests of suspected terrorists was at the Rehab Hati Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Baros Village, Warunggunung District, Lebak Regency, this morning. From the location, Ustaz S was arrested with his son.

However, in the afternoon, the child was brought back to the pesantren and brought with him the father-in-law of Ustadz S, with the initials HN. During the arrest, many members of Densus 88 were carrying long-barreled weapons.

“Ustaz S, brought home this morning to pick up his son, his son was also taken. His son was delivered again, but his father-in-law was taken. He took photos of this place,” said one of the students of Ponpes Rehab Hati with the initials AN.

The head of the local RT, Sandra, admitted that she did not really know who the teachers at the pesantren were. He didn’t even know why Ustaz S and HN were arrested by Densus 88.

“There have been several times when the owner of the boarding school met for KTP, KK documents, the rest rarely met, I was also rarely at home because of selling vegetables to other villages,” said Sandra.

In addition to Banten, the Densus 88 Team also arrested a number of suspected terrorists in Medan City, Binjai City, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) to Central Java (Central Java). However, it is not yet known for sure the total number of suspected terrorists who were arrested in the operation.
