Carbon monoxide poisoning possible cause of tragedy in South African cafe | NOW

Police in South Africa suspect carbon monoxide poisoning led to 21 deaths at a cafe in Eastern Cape. Report that South African media Wednesday.

The discovery of the 21 bodies in the pub was earlier this week world newsbecause the victims had no injuries and the police did not know what had killed them. A poisoning was already not ruled out at that time. Police have now ruled out oppression as the cause of the tragedy.

Initially, it was reported that most of the victims were between the ages of eighteen and twenty. It now appears that the youngest victim was thirteen years old and most young people were not older than seventeen. It concerns twelve girls and nine boys.

Most of the young people were in the pub for a birthday party. Others would have celebrated the end of the exam period. The death of the young people was shocked throughout South Africa.

According to News24 a gasoline generator released the toxic fumes. A definitive cause of death is expected later this week. Police have yet to comment on media coverage.
