A scammer who took an exclusive Aston Martin with him at a car garage in Boxtel in Brabant on Friday was arrested in Spain. After a wild chase, the man hit the Spanish police.
The man told the garage on Friday that he would return to pay the Aston Martin for nearly 50,000 euros, but he didn’t. He left behind an expensive BMW as collateral. However, that car turned out to be stolen. “We were very busy, otherwise this would never have happened”, the owner of the car garage told Omroep Brabant.
The car company shared the news about the stolen car via Facebook. An international truck driver recognized the car and saw it in Spain. So the scammer was now arrested by the Spanish police.
Test drive
The Boxtel company seizes the incident to take a good look at its policy. “We have comprehensive procedures: someone always drives a test drive like this. But now we will go over everything again.”
It is not yet known when the car will return to Boxtel.
