The containers with Cansino’s vaccine arrived at the Ezeiza airport at 2:20 a.m. on a Qatar Airway airline flight, and is added to the National Government’s Strategic Vaccination Plan against the coronavirus.

The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, had anticipated that the arrival of these vaccines is the “first game of a contract that contemplates the shipment of 5.4 million doses in the course of this year.”

Cansino’s single-dose vaccine

The particularity of Cansino’s vaccine is that, unlike the others, it is single-dose. That is, you do not need a second application and, according to studies carried out, it is 65.7% effective in preventing symptomatic cases, 95.4 for severe cases and 100 percent to prevent hospitalizations.

This way, Cansino’s vaccine will become the fifth that has been applied in Argentina so far, after Sputnik, Oxford / AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Moderna.

The laboratory had carried out its tests in Argentina with the Fundación Host. And in terms of negotiations, has already closed contracts with several provinces, including Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Capital Federal.

The figure of 200 thousand doses is small compared to what is stipulated in the contract of 5,400,000. It happens that the procedures in Beijing are not easy and even less so in these weeks when the Delta variant also began to hit several Chinese cities.
