World boxing champion Saul Canelo Alvarez wants to beat the Argentine national team star Lionel Messi for insulting Mexico after the match World Cup 2022.
As in the video circulating on social media, Messi is seen abandoning the shirt of one of the Mexican players on the floor of the locker room. The shirt looks green.
In the same video, Messi’s feet can be seen sliding the shirt across the floor using his feet when taking off his shoes. Messi then stopped not far from the shirt as he celebrated.
“They watch [Lionel Messi] clean the floor with our t-shirts and flags??? He should have prayed to God not to meet him,” Canelo wrote on Twitter.
Canelo’s comments received mixed responses. The people of Mexico support this action by the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF belt holder. But there are also those who think it’s too much.
In another tweet, Canelo explained that he has no personal problems with Argentina. However, what Messi did through the Mexico shirt was considered an act of harassment.
“As much as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico!! I’m not talking about countries [Argentina]I talk about Messi for the abuses he did” he said.
Argentina beat Mexico in their Group C match of the 2022 World Cup on Sunday (11/27) at morning WIB. This match was a fierce one with Argentina winning 2-0.
Thanks to this victory, Argentina still has a chance to qualify for the round of 16. Argentina’s last opponent in the group stage was Poland, precisely on Wednesday (30/11) at Stadium 974.
