Cameroon News :: Professor Mono Ndjana victim of a traffic accident :: Cameroon news

Yesterday, when writing the article on Professor Mono Ndjana, I was far from imagining that the philosopher was hospitalized, and that he was the victim of a serious traffic accident. One of his children, who wanted to answer me, informed me of the state in which he found himself. Here is essentially what the professor’s son wrote to me: “Good evening, I am the son of Professor Mono Ndjana.

We have read your testimony which is a vibrant tribute to this father who is still alive. To answer your question “where is Professor Mono Ndjana?”, he has unfortunately been interned at the Yaoundé central hospital following a serious traffic accident since November 2. I just read your text to him and he was very moved, saying that you spoke about him as if you were reading into him… He promises to frame this text which he really appreciated… I wanted to say thank you in her name.”

God only knows that I was not aware of anything, I simply noticed its absence for some time in the radio and television debates. Professor Mono Ndjana is one of the intellectuals who made me cancel meetings to follow their time on sets. He doesn’t know me.

I was never even his student. I am a lawyer by training, I was simply admiring of his rich intellectual culture. I know that he is receiving the care his case requires; but I don’t know if his condition is stable, as I also don’t know about the details of the accident. His son was still very emotional. I didn’t try to dig deeper. Still, it was a serious accident. Hubert Mono Ndjana is first of all a natural voice, better, an intonation in the intellectual tradition of our country.

It’s an old hand in the cultural sphere in Africa. It is because I loved his interventions, his sense of repartee, his way of speaking about Cameroon that I sought him out because his silence was resounding.

The professor has gone through life, he has learned a lot, he still has a lot to give. We still need his great wisdom, despite his desire to remain discreet and stoic in this difficult time. However, I would like to point out that I wrote this article in complete freedom. I specify once again that the professor does not know me, he has certainly never heard of me, however, thanks to his ideas and his humanism I know him, it is the promotion of this humanism that I support here in this difficult time.
