Mr. Duong Van Cuong, living in Ecohome 3 (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) shared that he works as a service passenger, so he is very interested in vehicle maintenance and repair. Although there is more than 1 month to go until the 30th April holiday, but because of the large number of car maintenance customers, he has the car serviced right on this occasion. “Even though I tried to go very early, I still had to wait a long time for my turn,” said Mr. Cuong.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dao Quoc Huong, owner of Smart car factory (Hanoi) said that although his factory has just opened, it was right on the occasion of preparing for the holiday of April 30, so many customers came. Huong shared, the time to go for car maintenance depends on the maintenance cycle and duration. However, if you plan to go far, especially before the holiday, customers can take the initiative to come for maintenance. The ideal time is about 2-3 weeks.
Mr. Huong emphasized, on the holiday of April 30, many auto repair shops are also closed. Therefore, to ensure the safety of “loving drivers”, customers need to actively maintain their vehicles.
First, customers need to pay attention to check the tires. Damaged tires not only cause the car to stop, but also cause danger if you are on the road. Worn tires, substandard tire pressure cause inconvenience and unsafety during driving.
Regarding tire wear, to assess the wear of car tires, drivers need to pay attention to the tread grooves. On the tread grooves, there are always positions to mark the tire’s critical wear. When the tread height and the height of these points are equal, the driver should change the tire immediately. Car tires need to be replaced when traveling 5 to 7 thousand km, not waiting for damage to change.
Drivers also need to pay attention to tire pressure. Inflating the tires at the right pressure helps the wheelchair roll on the road with the entire tire surface, the contact surface is spread more evenly, thereby helping to wear the tire surface evenly. Besides, a set of properly inflated tires also brings direct benefits to the user such as optimal smoothness, stable cornering ability, shortest braking distance and fuel economy. Drivers should also equip the vehicle with a tire pressure sensor for easier monitoring.
Next, the driver needs to pay attention to the maintenance of the car’s brake system. This is the number 1 safety factor. Make sure the brakes are always in good working order to avoid heavy braking, locking brakes, jamming, and brake failure during operation. Car brake maintenance is the inspection, replenishment of brake fluid, brake cleaning to help the best brake operation.
Another concern is the battery. In case the battery fails, the car will stop working and the driver can only wait for the car to be rescued. It’s inconvenient when this happens if the driver is traveling on a highway or an empty stretch of road during a holiday.
Checking the battery means checking the electrodes above the cap, making sure all the electrodes are connected correctly. When detecting problems of electric shock, fire, liquid leakage, etc., please replace it immediately to avoid fire, explosion and accident.
In order to avoid errors, it is recommended to have a general electrical examination of the vehicle with a car electrical fault reader at repair shops. This will eliminate the case of fire or explosion caused by an electrical short.
One factor that should not be overlooked when maintaining a car is the lighting system on the car. This problem not only provides good visibility for drivers at night as well as bad weather conditions, but also signals to other vehicles when operating.
