An 18-year-old man was stabbed last night on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal in the center. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police have arrested a 21-year-old suspect.

The stabbing took place just before 3.30 am on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal near the Stoofsteeg. According to a witness, there was an argument involving several people. Then the man was stabbed. The police are talking about a serious stabbing incident.
Serious injuries
Bystanders immediately provided first aid. That help was then taken over by ambulance personnel. The man was then rushed to hospital. According to the police, he sustained ‘serious injuries’. It is not known how the man is now and whether he is approachable.
Soon after the incident, the name of the suspect was known to the police. He could therefore be arrested quickly. The detective is dealing with the case.
