How did the Super Bowl get its name?
The term “Super Bowl” was invented in 1967 by Lamar Hunt. The then owner of the Kansas City Chiefs was looking for a catchier name for the final between the AFL and the NFL, which at that time was not exactly called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game.
