The multiplayer game Bulánci was created in 2001 under the banner of the author’s team SleepTeam. Thanks to the fact that it was available completely free of charge and since 2006 it has also offered its own level editor, it has spread abroad. To this day, the game has a community of players who have pushed developers to build on success and come up with a sequel.
“We toyed with the idea of the new Bulgarians for a long time, and in the end we were carried away by the enthusiasm and calling of the community for the modern Bulgarian title,” says Jaroslav Wagner from SleepTeam. According to him, it will not be a purebred remaster, but a completely new game, the aim of which is to enter the strange pillows among the current generation of games.

The authors not only plan to transform into 3D, but in the case of a successful campaign, they want to program the game so that players can play it together on multiple devices at the same time. The player who plays on the computer and the player on the console could join the same game. According to the developers, the possibility of multiplayer competitions on all platforms in various playable modes should be the main attraction.
Behind the original game and the planned restart of the title is SleepTeam, composed of veterans of the Czech game scene. Even before the establishment of Bulánky, the authors were at the birth of the Polda series. To create a new version of Bulánky, the developers started on May 17 campaign on the crowdfunding platform Starter, where they wanted to withdraw at least 500 thousand crowns in one month. The sum was sent to them by their fans within a few hours. On the same day at 10 pm, the amount already collected was more than one million crowns.

The authors have prepared various rewards for supporters at Starovač, including preliminary access and thanks in the headlines of the game. However, according to the information on the Starter, players can also look forward to collectible figurines, the opportunity to curb a bullfight, the upcoming card game Bulánci – special units or original author’s works with the authors’ signatures. A print edition of phenomenal Bulgarian poetry, which accompanied the success of the title at the beginning of the millennium, is also prepared for connoisseurs.
