Brussels: the Stib will run at full capacity from September 1

Stib buses, trams and metros will resume their usual schedules from September 1st.

Lhe Stib buses, trams and metros will resume their usual schedules from September 1, reports the Brussels public transport company.

Public transport was less numerous to circulate first in March because of the health crisis, and then by application of summer timetables. The Stib announced to Bruzz that the usual hours will be the norm again as of September 1st. Following the reopening of schools and the end of the summer holidays, the Brussels public transport company expects the number of commuters to increase on its network.

All the health measures applied since May will remain in place, confirms the company again, announcing that vehicles will continue to be disinfected daily, while the obligation to wear a mask remains in place, whether in transport or in the stops of the Stib.

The Stib still expects a reduced number of passengers in transport, despite the resumption of classes and work. “We should expect to transport fewer people than before the coronavirus crisis, in particular because of teleworking,” Guy Sablon explains to Bruzz.
