Mexican peso January 23 has a small setback against the dollar

The Mexican peso opened the day on Thursday with a downward trend.

In the morning, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) of Mexico announced that there was an annual variation of 3.18 percent in the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) during the first half of January. No such increase had been seen since the first half of August 2019.

Today in Mexico, the case they kept under observation for coronavirus was also confirmed as negative.

Politically, attention remains on the trial against the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

Last Tuesday was the first session in the Senate, where the rules for the process were set. So far, the Republican majority remains anxious to quickly conclude the trial.
