British intelligence report: – Slaughter Russian air force strategy

Monday rapport from British intelligence points out that Russian air forces have underperformed in the war against Ukraine, and that this is probably one of the main factors in Russia’s limited invasion success.

“For years, Russia’s air combat training has most likely been designed to impress senior officers, rather than develop dynamic cooperation between the various departments,” the report said.

They further write that while Russia has an impressive list of modern fighter jets, the Air Force has still not managed to develop the culture and skills required to deliver stronger air.

The report also claims that due to the disappointing air performance, Russia has had to compensate with ground troops – which are now being exhausted.

Moral problems

Four months of brutal fighting in Ukraine have led to heavy burdens on soldiers on both sides. It has hit combat morale, according to Sunday’s report.

– Forces from both sides are involved in intense fighting in the Donbas, and probably have varying fighting spirit, it was said in the intelligence update.

– Probably several have deserted from Ukrainian forces in recent weeks, but morale among the Russians is probably particularly problematic.

The British intelligence service claims that some Russian units refuse to carry out orders, and that there are armed confrontations between officers and their forces.

In a separate update from Ukrainian intelligence, it is claimed that Russian soldiers in intercepted telephone conversations have complained about the conditions at the front, poor equipment and general lack of personnel.

Alerts intensification

During his daily early Monday morning, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects Russia to intensify attacks on the country in the near future.

Zelensky puts the assumption in the context of the European Commission’s proposal to make Ukraine a candidate country, writes NTB. This week, the EU’s 27 member states will vote on the proposal.

“This week we should expect Russia to intensify its hostilities,” Zelensky said.

– And not only against Ukraine, but also against other European countries. We are preparing. We are ready. We warn our partners, he says.

The case is being updated.
