As reported by the Daily Star Monday (20/6/2022), what is more worrying is when the black hole is large enough to swallow Earth, according to experts from the Australian National University.

The principal investigator, Dr. Christopher Onken said the discovery was considered something very large, hard to find and unexpected.
“Astronomers have been hunting for such objects for more than 50 years. They have found thousands of faint objects, but these bright objects were found unnoticed,” added Onken.
The site Space.com reports that the black hole is 500 times larger than the black hole located at the center of the Milky Way
Meanwhile, the ESO Observatory explained that this discovery has confirmed predictions made about 30 years ago about active galactic nuclei (AGN).
This discovery gives astronomers new insight into the active galactic cores known to be the brightest and most mysterious objects in the universe.
“These results lead us to a better understanding of how AGN works,” said Violeta Gámez Rosas, a scientist from the Netherlands.
AGN is a compact region of space at the center of galaxies and causes these galaxies to be much brighter than others. Taken by ESO’s Very Large Telescope Interferometer in northern Chile, these observations shed new light on galaxies that have active galactic nuclei at their cores.
“AGN can also help us better understand history Milky Way which harbors a supermassive black hole at its center that may have been active in the past,” added Gámez Rosas, a doctoral candidate at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
